Regular wellness exams allow us to catch underlying health problems early, provide consistent preventative care, and support your pet’s overall health and well-being.
Vaccines are essential for preventive care and can increase the chances of a longer, happier life for pets. Ensuring that pets are consistently up to date with their vaccinations can help prevent contracting disease or help lessen the severity of symptoms if a disease is contracted.
Another key component of helping to maintain your pet’s health and happiness is having them on reliable, consistent heartworm preventative.
Heartworm disease is serious and potentially fatal to our dogs and cats. Heartworms are spread by mosquito bites and can grow up to a foot long, living in the heart and lungs of our beloved pets.
Fleas can cause itchy skin, skin infections, and spread tapeworms. Ticks can carry disease such as Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis, and more.
It's hard to provide care without knowing the root of what is ailing your pet, which is why diagnostic testing is so important. Diagnostic testing can include laboratory testing (blood, urine, and fecal) and diagnostic imaging like X–rays, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.
The occasional taps, scrapes, and scratches that happen when playing with your pet means it's time for a trip to your local veterinarian or boarding facility! Trimming your pet's nails is a healthy part of their life, and can lead to greater comfort in everyday activity.
From routine cleanings to tooth extractions, the Thrive Pet Healthcare network of Primary Care veterinarians and Dental Specialists is here to keep your pet's smile fresh! Our general practices can take care of everyday dental maintenance with outstanding regular check-ins, cleanings, and basic surgeries.
Meanwhile, our specialty veterinarians are prepared to handle more complex or chronic dental cases like a root abscess, jaw fracture, abnormal tooth formation, or advanced periodontal disease. These doctors are highly trained within the field of veterinary dentistry and have access to specialized equipment, typically unavailable at primary care clinics.
Unless you intend to breed, we recommend having pets spayed or neutered. Pets that have been spayed or neutered tend to live longer and have healthier lives.
Our veterinarians are skilled in diagnosing common problems that affect our pets like vomiting, itching, lumps, limping, and more.
We will be by your side during this time of need to offer both medical assistance and emotional support.
It’s never easy leaving your best furry friend behind when you take a trip, but thankfully you can feel calm and relaxed knowing they are in the safest of hands with our pet boarding and daycare teams. Our facilities have a wide variety of comforts and specialties that you can add for your pet to enjoy during their stay! When you bring your pet to a Thrive Pet Care partner facility, you can rest easy knowing your pet is playing, interacting, and sleeping the day away until they're ready to greet you at the door again at the end of their stay.
It can be really tough to trust another person with your fur child - after all, you are the only person who truly understands your pet’s unique needs and behaviors. However, we hope as a national leader in pet healthcare, you can have confidence in our team’s commitment to care for your pet as if they were our own.
Let's face it - the life of a pet can be pretty dirty. Playing in things and making a mess, self-grooming, and all the little things that our pets enjoy every day doesn't always make for a great smelling companion. That's why our Thrive Pet Care partner clinics offer bathing services to get your pet sweet smelling and sparkly clean!
Bathing specialists at Thrive Pet Care partner clinics know what it means to give a scared pet a bath too, as they're trained and prepared in keeping your pet calm, even when they don't like being clean. When your pet comes back out, you'll be glad they got a bath - and they will be too!

Dr. del Pino grew up in Tennessee and moved to Florida in 1996 where she started working in wild bird rehabilitation in Tavernier with Laura Quinn. After her experience there she decided that to better help the birds she needed to go to Veterinary School. Dr. del Pino will always be grateful to Laura for her experience there and for being an inspiration to further her education. Dr. del Pino finished her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Wildlife Conservation and Ecology. She then attended Veterinary School in the Cayman Islands, St. Matthew’s University where she was fortunate enough to have received a vast amount of exotic animal experience. She had her clinical year at the University of Illinois and did a year internship in wildlife medicine at C.R.O.W, The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife on Sanibel Island. After her internship, she began work at Banfield Pet Hospital and was there for 2.5 years until she received a position in Marathon with Dr. Mader. “I feel fortunate that I was able to move here and work with such wonderful people and be able to learn from everyone."

Dr. Dominique Markou was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida. Her love for animals started early as she grew up with many pets including cats, dogs, birds, ferrets, hamsters, mice, fish and turtles. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Central Florida before attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she obtained her DVM degree in 2022. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time on the water, fishing, snorkeling/scuba diving, doing yoga, and spending time with friends and family.

Sarah Amblard, who goes by her initials around the clinic (Dr. SEA), was originally born in Key West but spent most of her childhood on Long Island, NY. After graduating high school, she started heading back down south to earn her BS in biology from UNC Chapel Hill. Then, before applying to vet school, she took some time to get more hands-on experience in the field. She participated in a pre-veterinary semester abroad in Thailand where she learned about and grew to enjoy caring for a variety of species. She then spent a year working as a veterinary assistant at a mobile non-profit spay/neuter company in NC before attending NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Since graduating earlier this year, she has been taking part in a 6-month small animal internship in the Memphis, TN area. Now, she’s excited to bring what she’s learned back home to the Keys! Outside of work, she enjoys anything ocean-related, including scuba diving and fishing, crafting, and Latin dancing. Otherwise, you can find her relaxing at home with her dog Otter and her cat Minnow.
